I was really, really excited for online play. I couldn’t believe it when I heard it was local-only. My Wii was almost pride of place in my living room.

I disagree. I can definitely picture myself sitting alone in front of my Wii, laughing myself to tears as I push a poor blue Toad into a pit.

Ah well, fingers crossed for a sequel with multiplayer.

It is when it goes against the experience.

This is the sort of crazy, humorous competitiveness that really only works when you have three other people in the room to laugh and mess around with.

It’s something Nintendo has always been good at.

Sure he can fault it. Having great local multiplayer is no excuse to not having great online multiplayer.

Yeah, Local probably is the ‘ideal’ but how often do you have 3 other people on hand to play with?

The great thing about online multiplayer is the potentially millions of other players to jump into game with.
