Nelson: 360 soc media updates will “just appear” tomorrow
According to Mr Nelson, tomorrow‘s Twitter, Last.fm and Facebook 360 update won’t be an update at all: it’s all going to happen by magic.
“When we turn on the new features tomorrow they’ll just appear! No need for a system update,” said the exec.
That’s just freakin’ freaky, man. Now, if only Microsoft could master the sorcery involved in allowing people to open Twitpics and links from 360′s version of Twitter, we’d all be spellbound.
Shutup, Pat.

Or then just the banners will appear and people can download those apps if they wish. Easy, it is.

That’s because they are all modular downloads.
Nothing in the back-end of the dashboard of the system has actually been changed.

I don’t like automated twitter stuff at all really. I love twitter, but want people on there and not bots.

Even if they tidy it up to present the tweeted highlight reel of someone’s last game session, it’ll still just be spam, because it would be completely flavourless, without people’s own thoughts. It could work, but they need to rethink the amount of updates, for sure.

They obviously sneaked any code changes they needed to support this into one of the last two updates. Oh well, good news – no waiting around.
