You people need to accept the fact we could be playing FFXIII right now if square wasn’t so pissed at Sony for launching the PS3 at a high price and it not selling well its first year on the market. All you have to do is read between the lines. FF versus XIII is still said to be an exclusive…next years E3 will be very interesting indeed but not a shocker.

I ‘m pretty sure SquEnix themselves just decided to release the game simultaneously. why wouldn’t they? only if Sony pay them (like in example, I assume MS did with Star Ocean 4), but Sony didn’t.

@Psychotext-IDK the whole story on the Crystal Tools Engine but I assume almost all engines now a days can be used on all system there just less quality on systems they were not made for, True demo’s don’t mean it’s released but that’s not what I said, I said it’s likely the Japanese version has been done for awhile. We already know that the PS3 version is finished but not localization yet that’s where MS comes in with the money so there not left behind in the release date!

@JonFE-First where did it sound like I was pissed I admit I was pissed when I first found out that FF13 was headed to the 360, but I’m over that. And it does annoy me now that not only is it multiplat but they held off the PS3 version so the 360 version could catch up and yes that’s not just MS fault beside I’m already pissed at Square for not releasing any of there games this generation for us PS3 gamers when were the one’s that bought all there previous products. But anyways yes I’m buying FF13 and FF Versus 13 and FF Agito 13(PSP) but I think they should push back FF 13 until April since where waiting anyways I don’t want to have to spend so much in one month on gaming there are a ton of games coming out in the first 3 months of 2010!

Talyis, having a demo doesn’t mean that a game is complete. There are plenty of games that have had demos anywhere up to a year before the game was finished off.

(I have no opinion either way on the whole situation, but I do know how long Square takes to localise their games)

And you should all know that MS did make a deal with Square (yes with money) to hold of the PS3 version in Europe and America so they can be release on the same day. That also means that Square has had a lot of time to localize the game, I’d say the game has been done since around August or maybe September. So I can see why PS3 gamers like myself are pissed that they are holding off are version just so the 360 version can be released on the same day, Come to think of it the Japanese version of FF13 was probably done even last year maybe think of it like this.
1.Create FF13(Japanese version)
2.Make deal with MS
3.Finish FF13(Japanese version)
4.Start localizing PS3 version for the states
5.Then start 360 version to an equal status
6.finish the 360 version (Basically copy and pasting to DVD9 as best they can)
7.Advertise for Japanese version
8.Start localizing 360 version
9.finish PS3 localization
10.Release Japanese version
11.start advertising for EU and NA
12.finish 360 localization
13.and finally release ps3 and 360 version in EU and NA

So yes I would say eve the PS3 NA/EU versions have been done for awhile but cannot be released until the 360 version is ready!

*You* are not the only person who will be playing the game. Square Enix can not magically release the game earlier than it takes the finish it just because *you* want it. There’s no magic “finish making the game” button they can press to just magically get it out when it suits *you*.
