Bible Navigator X coming to Xbox Live

God’s coming to your Xbox 360, and he is pissed.
Okay maybe he’s not pissed off per se, but he is still coming via Bible Navigator X on the Indie Channel.
It will run you 400 MS Points and includes the Old and New Testament, a search tool, bookmarking system and adjustable settings.
“The Xbox isn’t just secular entertainment anymore,” said B&H’s Aaron Linne. “We can use technology that other people developed to study Scriptures through a new medium.
“Some people are just more comfortable with a controller in their hands than a book.”
Christ.

LMFAO! I almost used the Simpsons pic of the last supper spoof in Moe’s bar.

Will you still have to read it? Or can you just claim whatever suits you.
PS: I see you Latin has improved, Steph.

That’s a damn… uhh… darn sight more advertising than most Indie Games get.
I bet it’ll easily top the sales for the week it’s released.

And the Indie Store *still* isn’t available in Ireland. Which is frankly retarded.

How odd. You have the ESRB in Ireland right? So it’s not that which is holding it up.

We don’t have the ESRB in Europe, Psycho. We have PEGI.
Ireland has PEGI though, so that can’t be it.

I can’t actually remember the name of the board… but it’s the reason you have to play Indie Games online (they get around not having ratings via the loophole of “Game Experience May Change During Online Play”).

The whole “xbox isn’t secular entertainment anymore” has me confused. Pimping out the bible on the 360 in the hope you get some agnostics to sign up doesn’t get the console a blessing from god. That’d be like porn shops stacking The New Testement next to Anal Angels and saying Hey whacking off isnn’t secular entertainment anymore”

400MS points is essentially a fiver.
A fiver for text most Christians have anyway in a much less convenient form that is actually harder to read.
You can get a print pocket Bible for sub 5 quid, I just looked on Amazon.
Shit, I’ve got at least two Bibles and I’m not even Christian.
This is the sort of shit Christians will lap up to feel more Christian though, so have at it.

I have no bibles.
They tend to burst into flame when I touch them. I’ve never really understood that.

So Micro$oft doesn’t allow anybody to mention their sexuality on their account, nor do they allow the mentioning of political/religious views, but they will sell a bible for 400 M$points?
I understand only those who are interested will purchase it, but really? Call me blind, but WTF are Microsoft doing?

@ Scyrenn.. I believe the Indie Games is only available to those in the US. Anyone else wishing to access it will have to go against the ToU and create a fake US account. Not that I have, but just saying.

At the moment I think it’s just these countries:
Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States

The bible contains far more violence than Modern Warfare 2. Let’s see the Daily Mail* and some pious, self-righteous MPs complain about this one.
* fact of the day: moral guardians “The Daily Mail” and its proprietors (the Rothermeres) supported Adolf Hitler and the Nazis in the 1930s. http://www.voiceoftheturtle.org/dictionary/dict_h1.php#hurrah

Its not even selling the Bible its a program that will help you read the damn thing. You can go to CHristian bookstore and they would charge you an arm and a leg for the same thing, there is no difference.

Did they fix the bug where Jezus could only carry one Phoenix Down in his inventory? Combined with the instant kill cross level made the beta a bitt crap.
