You’re a single player kind of guy, so you don’t understand, PT.

People have different motives for playing games and get different ‘rewards’ or ‘highs’ from playing different games.

I for one, can’t understand people who like playing the same game for weeks on end without seemingly caring about getting to the end. I was a huge Zelda fan, but even the 50 and 70 hour Zelda’s took me a matter of days to finish (including loads of side quests) because I was so desperate to get to the end.

Playing online isn’t about taking part in what the game has to offer you and enjoying it, like a single player game does. Multiplayer doesn’t provide the real highs that keep you hooked, rather it’s up to the players to do that.

It’s the competitiveness, the community and all of the variation that it provides.

Saying that MP is the same thing over and over again is like saying that all sports are the same thing over and over again. That every game of football is exactly the same because it’s on a pitch, or basketball match is the same because it’s on a court, or snooker or tennis, etc.

Each game is different, and is full of different players and different events and the community keeps it changing and ‘evolving’ as time goes on.

Which isn’t something that can happen in a single player experience.

There’s slightly more to it than that ABD. I can’t imagine playing any game for hundreds of hours… especially not a shooter. I think the only game I’ve done something like that on would be World of Warcraft, but then there was enough content and challenge to make that a possibility.

But play the same x maps over and over again? I just couldn’t deal with that. I’d rather be playing new games.
