GAME breaks UK MW2 street date

mw2sgame

GAME Modern Warfare 2 pre-orders have started arriving in gamers’ hands, a day before the title goes on sale.

VG247 reader Dannybuoy just Twitpicced his copy.

Many reports are now coming in of retailers in the UK and US having broken the game’s street date, including Gamestop.

Activision said overnight that it “has not given any retailer permission to sell Modern Warfare 2 prior to the Nov. 10 street date.”

Gutted, can’t play it until later. I work from home too but have, you know, ‘work’ to do.. shame, it always gets in the way!

GAME pre-orders have always shown up a day or two early for me for every game I’ve purchased over the last couple of years, which is the exact reason why I nearly always pre-order from them, straying elsewhere only for variations on retailer-specific exclusives. I had Dragon Age Origins last wednesday, 2 days before official European release. Supposedly it’s to ensure that mail-order customers (nearly) always have their purchases on release day, which is fair enough, but they nearly always over-shoot. Not that I’m complaining. :)
