Lost Planet 2 to get a 2010 release, says MS slide

lostplanet2

So says a powerpoint slide at a Microsoft invitational in Korea, Lost Planet 2 could still see a release this year.

The slide shows Capcom has the game down for “this winter” in Japan, compared to the PS3 version: that doesn’t have a date yet in the country.

Be that as it may, it will get a 2010 release in the West for both platforms.

Kojima: MW2, UC2, AC2 are “incredible”

kojima

Speaking in this week’s Famitsu in a co-interview with creative producer of Assassin’s Creed II Patrice Desilets, Hideo Kojima has labeled Desilets’ game “incredible”, alongside Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Modern Warfare 2.

“I’ve been telling this to everyone who interviews me lately but I think there are three games that stand out above the rest of the pack in the remainder of this year. One is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, one is Uncharted 2, and the third is Assassin’s Creed II. Those three are just incredible,” said Kojima.

“Assassin’s Creed II has been watched since before it was made, what with the first game selling over 8 million copies worldwide. You have intense pressure from the publisher and from gamers, but you still have to keep your schedule and strive to improve on the last game. I think that pressure has crushed more than a few creators over the years, but Patrice overcame it and clawed his way to the end of the project.

“I think he’s a genius for achieving that, and I’m really looking forward to what he does in the future.”

And what does Desilets think of Kojima’s high praise on his game?

“I really never felt much pressure, but with Kojima saying things like that, I’m starting to feel it now.”

Assassin’s Creed II is releaed on November 20, MGS: Peace Walker is released next year for the PSP.

Thanks, 1Up.

Op Flash: Dragon Rising DLC due this month

operationflashpoint214

DLC for Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will be released this month, hopefully alongside the release of a network patch, according to executive producer Sion Lenton.

Speaking in an interview with Eurogamer, he said:

“Within two-to-four weeks of release, tops.

“Our intention is to align [the patch] with the first DLC pack that’s coming out as well, which is due around the end of October. Hopefully we’ll do the whole thing in one.”

He further added that there will be more DLC down the line for the game, but that is hasn’t been decided yet.

“It’s quite open-ended. It’s not a lot of fuss for us to make new content – it’s actually quite easy for us to get it out there, with regards to things like levels, game modes, etc.”

Left 4 Dead 2 refused classification again in Australia

left4dead28

Here we go again.

Left 4 Dead 2 has been refused classification by the OFLC once again, despite recieving a MA 15+ rating for a watered down version two weeks ago.

This is what it says in the media send-out, sent by the OFLC.

A three-member panel of the Classification Review Board (the Review Board) has unanimously
determined that the computer game Left 4 Dead 2 is classified RC (Refused Classification).

In the Review Board’s opinion, Left 4 Dead 2 could not be accommodated within the MA 15+
classification. The computer game contains a level of violence which is high in impact, prolonged,
repeated frequently and realistic within the context of the game.

In addition, it was the Review Board’s opinion that there was insufficient delineation between the
depiction of general zombie figures and the human figures, as opposed to the clearly fictional
‘infected’ characters. This was a major consideration of the Review Board in determining the
impact of this game on minors.

It was refused the first time in mid-September.

Thanks, wearetheinternetz and mescalineeyes.
