Rumor: Rockstar teases possible location of next GTA game

rockstar tease

Tucked away on page 13 of the manual for GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City, owners will find a fake advertisement that possibly hints at the location of the next game in the series.

Who knows with the folks at Rockstar. They are your typical prom night tease.

At any rate, the advert says: Liberty City, It’s Over! Next Stop …. something Seagull. The corner of the advert is intentionally ripped with what looks like countryside.

Nice one there.

It does say “opens March everywhere” as well, so who knows what that mean – if anything – or if it even pertains to the same thing. Bah. We’re confused now, so we’ll stop.

More through GTA4.net.

Does The Ballad of Gay Tony go on live at midnight in the UK?

hmm, maybe the march thing is when it will be revealed. Back on the PS2 I’m pretty sure they started revealing details around that time and then released the game in october time, could be a similar trend.

I’m fairly sure one of the areas in Vice City was called Seagull something-or-other. Hopefully Rockstar are going back to the ’80s with Tommy Vercetti.

Fools. It’s pretty much guaranteed to be a Wii exclusive.

Exclusivity goes to the highest bidder. Man, who would have though Rockstar would become more powerful than the next gen console manufacturers.

They’ve done New York, Miami and Los Angeles, the only places left are Paris, Tokyo, London and gangland era Chicago. Maybe GTA5: Bagdad. You can play an Iraqi crime boss trying to work with and around the insugents and the US Military.

God anything but the 80s again vice city was the worst.. Stay modern or 90s. Nobody wants to listen to 80s rap and hair metal bs again.

I’m always surprised when people say they preferred Vice City over any of the others. It probably the least original being a blantant rip-off of ScarFace and all of the characters in it were sort of dicks.

i want a real mafia setting.
let alohne the name “vercetti” makes vice city better than any other game. on the entire planet! Ever!!

what about GTA:Kabul
You could start as a young afghan and make your way up to get the badass warlord everyone fears!

Speak for yourself Uncontested, I could listen to 80′s rap all day.

Could it be that Uncontested is too young to appreciate the beauty of an 80s GTA?

I loved the setting and soundtrack for Vice City, but didn’t much get on with the game for some reason. I’d love for them to do another one set in the 80s, so Vice City revisited and done properly would be fantastic!

80′s FTW I’d love a Vice City with the GTA IV engine.

GTA Countryside? Hmmm … that would be heading towards Just Cause 2 territory – very impressed with early vids of that – if they can sort out the screen tearing and framerate I’m in.

San Andreas had countryside already, did it not?

The word above Seagull could be Seattle. That would also fit with the mountains in the pic too.

EG reckons the word above Seagull is “Theatre”.

The rip in that pic just happens to look like a part of France. :D

‘Seagull’ is obviously a reference to the book Jonathan Livingston Seagull.

Livingston is a Scottish New Town just outside Rockstar North’s home city of Edinburgh.

So, the next GTA is set in a boring and drab Scottish New Town. Or the GTA universe version of Seattle.

Definitely one of these two options.
