I’m a “hardcore” gamer (in the sense that I like the challenge of playing video games and the gameplay mechanics that create the experience), but I’m still interested in this.

Not all “casual” games are evil for Christ sake. They’re often the most social games you can get. Some of my most memorable experiences come from playing these so called “casual” titles with friends and family that aren’t into the serious, more skill driven “hardcore” titles as much as we are.

People can say what they want, but people aren’t being all these Wii and DS games because they’re gimmicks. They’re buying them because they’re a nice bit of simple fun.

And really, what’s so wrong with that?

Face it, Natal will suck if they use it for hardcore games…

I really don’t get why hardcore gamers don’t understand that it’s not for them (perhaps I do… we’re a very self-entitled bunch).

You can forget about the tech right now, because you wont use it, you wont buy it, and it wont have games that are aimed at you. It’s purely for pulling in casuals.

You can do the same thing on ipet for PS3. Natal will suck if they don’t have hardcore games for it. That’s all I’d use it for. All of that other shit can slide to the side in my book.

That could become an awesome horror game. I don’t know how scanning would work into it, but that kid is really creepy looking, mainly because it animates so well.
