Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, Abe’s Exodus coming to PSN this Thursday

Abe

Oddworld Inhabitants co-founder Lorne Lanning has announced on the US PS Blog that Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee and Oddworld: Abe’s Exodus will be released on the PlayStation Store this Thursday for $9.99.

“We couldn’t have been more thrilled when we learned that the PlayStation Network was willing to offer our classic Abe games to an entirely new generation of gamers,” said Lanning.

“Finally, gamers who never got the chance to meet and play him when he first came out on the PSone system, will now get that chance to meet the guy who graced many magazine covers and proved the unlikely hero that captured people’s hearts.”

As for when Munch’s Odyssey and Stranger’s Wrath are coming to the PSN, Lanning said they are looking at ways to bring them over.

“We’re working on a strategy to bring them over as well. May take us awhile, but we hope to achieve what you’re asking for.”

I loved the first one and then for some bizarre reason I never bought the sequel. To this day, I have no idea why.

It’s ‘Exoddus’, btw. Double-D. Matron. :-D

If you liked the first one you’ll love Exoddus.

I know. I can’t for the life of me figure out why I never bought it.

I wonder if they’ve touched up the graphics at all or if it’s going to be a straight port.

They’re just the straight PSOne games for playing under emulation, are they not? Not remakes.

Yeah, they’re just PS1 ports. The versions in the PC boxset on the otherhand might have been cleaned up abit.

I think it would be amazing to see proper remakes of these games. Imagine playing it 2.5d !? ;-)

Yeah, HD 2.5D remakes would be superb.

Do you know what just occurred to me? If they keep releasing gems of old like these two (or the xbox OddWorld games) how are we supposed to find time to play them along with some of the decent new games, eh :?

There are only so many hours in a day and some people have to work for a living!

/wishes to be back in school for a couple of years to catch up with the huge pile of shrink-wrapped games still begging for attention…
