First Saw reviews don’t exude promise

Saw: The Videogame is apparently on the verge of release; IGN’s just given it 7.5/10 in its first review.

It doesn’t sound like the most amazing thing in the world:

It would have taken a lot more polish and time to put Saw up there with the kings of the survival horror genre. But the developers are definitely onto something, and I’d like to see the Saw games improve over time. For now, some of the puzzles repeat a few times too many while the plot points and big scares at times run thin.

But never mind. Buy it anyway. The video review’s after the break, if you want to see it in action.

As for the rest:

It’s out on November 20. Who knew?

Did anyone actually have high hopes for this one?

Hmm, on second thought, scratch that…

Did anyone actually have a tiny, little bit of hope that this might turn out decent?

It looked sub-par from the very first screenshots really, no surprise.

Surely 7.5 means it above average?

From IGN, but what are other sites saying? And you also have to read whats being said in the reviews, sometimes it tells you alot more then the score.
I’m betting it’ll probably have a Metacritics score of about 65-70 in the end.

That’s quite a range for the first few reviews. I’m pretty sure nobody thought it’d be good, though.

I’m betting on a 5 or slightly above on metacritic.

Wouldn’t expect anything from this game look what they have done to Saw. Raped it without any lube and left it dead in the alley after the second one. Hell, there is a sixth Saw coming out at the end of this month and seventh being written for it. Not sure what the writers and directors are actually expecting…
