Spot the difference between Forza 2 and Forza 3
Japanese gaming blog Livedoor (via Kotaku) has put up a comparison of Forza Motorsport 2 and Forza Motorsport 3, showing the differences the two year difference the two games have between each other.
The difference is noticeable anyways in the HUD and in the lighting.
Head through the first link to see the comparison.
Game’s out on October 23 in the UK and October 27 in the US for the Xbox 360. Reviews embargo expires on Thursday.

The biggest difference is that Forza 3 is full of ads.

Interesting – not really as much as I thought there would be after the demo. I guess that particular course looked better partly due to the fantasy nature of the track. Still very impressive for 60fps but no the leap I thought it was.

It’s hardly surprising on those shots… they’re basically the old tracks with no changes. You’d need to look at Amalfi or Camino Viejo to see the new stuff.

Yes… other than that, the game is identical. I mean obviously ignoring the 100+ more cars, double the track configurations, cockpit modelling, point to point racing and the like.

Actually a lot of real tracks are quite dull. NfS:Shift took a few liberties with the backdrops to make them more interesting. Track detail on the tarmac is notably better too – you’ll appreciate that rrod360lol

There is a big difference in the way Forza 3 plays compared to Forza 2. As well as improved visuals there is much more of a feeling of speed to the racing.
Forza 2 in the lower car classes could feel terribly slow, now even the minis feel alive.
Still, fuck how it plays, if there arent 10 billion different shaders, bloom up the wazoo and ray-trace lighting in effect then the game is shit right?
That is how games ‘Journalism’ works these days, isnt it?

Yep. It does feel notably more involved with the in-car and bonnet cams. A big improvement on F2 for me.

I’m playing it at the moment… the racing is fantastic even in slower cars. The cockpit view helps, but even without it, it feels like the cars have got real weight this time which makes for some great tussles.

The best difference is that they ditched tha ridiculously large field of view/extreme perspective, and instead took a wide shot from behind the car.
It’s just mroe stylish looking, since the lines of the car match up (talking picture composition here).

I played FM3 demo but I’d like they add in more visual “tricks” like in DIRT 2, for example the R-G-B color seperating when cars impact, like real cameras do(what do you call that effect?), FM3 demo feels too “clean” for me.
