I’d say the delay is likely a form of “piracy tax”. If they hold the PC version back a couple of weeks then it’s less likely the game will be leaked onto the ‘net, making it more likely that potential pirates will pick up a legitimate console copy on launch day instead.

Sounds bizarre, I know, but apparently it’s an actual thing; presumably there’s some figures somewhere which lend credence to the idea.

I’m guessing that Aimless is 100% correct in this. I think that’s why we’re seeing so many PC versions of games being delayed by weeks just before launch. Either that or MS is paying them to do it so they can move gamers to their nickel and dime gaming operation.
