Steam accepting preorders for Borderlands, gives 10% off

Steam’s currently taking preorders for Borderlands, which is set to go live on the service October 26.
Those who decide to go ahead and lay down the cash for will also get 10 percent off the $49.99 title, paying $44.99 instead.
If you are unsure if your system can run the thing or not,
Steam also has the system specs listed, and this version of the game will have two exclusive features, which allow players to export equipment cards as JPEGs, and will also come with timedemo benchmark software.
The disc-based PC version lands October 30, while consoles get it October 23.

Does it really matter about the inequality in regions when you can buy the game from Amazon for less even after steams pre-order discount?

I just checked amazon and it’s 45.49 so not cheaper… and I like steam because it gives me a backup for life.
