Infinity Ward’s Rob Bowling has confirmed on the developer’s forums that development work for the map pack DLC due for Modern Warfare 2 next year, or for any kind of DLC for the game, “hasn’t even begun”.
Speaking to a user on the forums, Bowling stated: “I think you might be confused by that. We haven’t even begun thinking about what our DLC will be, Let alone finish any.
NO DLC will begin development until the entire game is finished and certified.”
There you have it then.
Game’s out on PS3, PC and 360 on November 10. The first two map packs for the game are a timed exclusive to the Xbox 360 when they land next year.

They really fucked their hardcore audience by not releasing more maps for COD4.

It’s only got 2 less than 3-map-pack WaW.

There’s no excuse for not releasing at least another map pack before MW2. They made a shit load of money to do what? Produce a sequel that is only (maybe) 25% better than COD4.
I’ve seen the vids G1GA, but honestly it seems BFBC2 is making the biggest improvements.

BFBC2 would be making the biggest improvements; The first one was so shoddy theres alot they can improve on…

that’s true Gek but BFBC does a lot of things that MW2 doesn’t. Fully destructible environments, drivable vehicles, and larger playable maps. From the teaser trailer released you can see many effects that seem improved.
MW2 seems like COD4.5. Its still gonna be great. I’m just thinking about the way IW will handle DLC. To me it just seems like they are going to put out mediocre map packs (that suck again) and say wait until MW3 for more.

I dunno about that… Sure, BF did look much better in that vid, but it’s the same BF that I’ve only been bothered to play a few times since I bought it. I got BF1942 as well, which is good, but the gameplay is the same old BF gameplay that it has been for ages.
Apart from that you can now blow up buildings.
If I hadn’t played either game before, and someone asked me to say which one I thought was the better game after the recent vids, I’d probably say BF.
But knowing the gameplay that they’re both likely to offer, and seeing what each developer is talking about in terms of new features, I know which one I think is looking like making the biggest improvements, and it’s MW2 for sure.

I don’t like vehicles in my shooters. I think it detracts from everything. Becomes a race to vehicles and kamikazee and tilts the playing field. Vehicles screw the balance of the game and also elminate Tighter smaller maps. Never cared for the gameplay of BF

umm… aslong as they don’t take too long to make it. Like theevilaires said, they screwed us over when it comes to DLC on cod4… I hope there is more this time around…
