Super Street Fighter IV officially confirmed, coming spring 2010 [Update]
GameSpot‘s got the full scoop on Super Street Fighter IV, which came straight from the mouth of producer Yoshinori Ono himself.
According to the report, the game will be a stand-alone, disc-based affair – as opposed to DLC. If you think Capcom’s looking to bleed your wallet dry in exchange for very little of its own blood, sweat, and tears, though, fear not; the game won’t be selling for full-price.
In terms of standout upgrades, SSFIV will include eight new playable characters, including T. Hawk, Dee Jay, and series first-timer Juri. Other than that, the game is bringing in a host of tweaks and upgrades based on community feedback.
It’s out on PS3 and Xbox 360 next spring. Tons more through the link.
Update: The first teaser trailer’s below.

Awesome trailer from an artistic/production standpoint.
Marketing wise it sucks. Would be nice to see something new/fresh other than the word “Super”…in this…teaser.
Don’t get me wrong – I’m stoked about this title and hope capcom continues to support SF4 via DLC just as SF2 sparked so many build/upgrades. Just oldest characters Ryu & Ken not really attention grabbing with the concept..

I with the game actually played like that trailer. With decent dodges and counters and stuff…

Why can’t they just make it an expansion?
Who wants another disc to see the same engine with different gameplay modes?

Because among many things , they are revamping the netcode .
I remember capcom saying earlier this year that they had GGPO’s licence (the excellent code that make blazblue and sf2 HDR so smooth online), but couldnt include it in time for sf4 without some major code modification .
Now it remains to be seen if true . Anyway Given the amount of changes rumored , wich seems quite official now and spot on , yeah it cant just be a dlc

Just as long as they balance the game so that Ken and Sagat aren’t so overpowered that 99.99% of the playerbase use them.
Frankly, I buy this just for that.

@Michael O’Connor
Ken isnt overpowered at all . He isnt even close to the top .
He just happens to be very easy to use for scrubs , or under tremendous lag .
And guess what ? There is a guy or various guys like that in EVERY fighting games …
You guys needs to realize that with the addition of online and possible lag , most fighting game will be plagued with the same problem :
Most people will always flock to the noob friendly character online , regardless of his actual and real efficiency at higher levels of play .
Take Blazblue , and replace Ken by Jin kisaragi . He isnt broken or overpowered , but will be found online in many cases , because half of his moves are easy to spam .
Tekken 6 is most likely to suffer from this too , T5 DR did anyway .
Now sagat , is indeed overpowered , thought it’s vastly exagerated . Unless you’re some japanese tournament wizard , Sagat can buckle against pressure from many chars . You just cant let him set up the pace , wich he can do with many and easy mistakes .
He shouldnt be that hard to pressure , and his damages are too high , especially his standing HK (wich happens to be one of the 3 best anti air and jump) , but he is still beatable with skills and strategy .
people forget Sagat was actually possibly far worse in Sf2 and turbo , and quite the ryu killer and hunter .
60-70% of the people complaining about him in sf4 , just enter some silly fireball exchange they might not win , or just like fools toward him .
But again yes he still needs to be toned down .

Why ? Super street 4 bring pretty much as much new content than tekken 6 to tekken 5 ( aside from obvious graphical upgrades) when actually reading the list of many changes .

Right now Dee-Jay and T.Hawk are confirmed (no need mentioning the new kid, who really gives a shit eh?). I really hope we get Sodom, Karin, and Cody.
Adon and Charlie will be making a showing i’m sure.

Well I give a shit actually…
(sounds wrong, that…)
I like playing as female chars and this looks like a fast one, which is good, I’m in love already… :p
I’m hoping for Karin too, maybe R Mika, even though I’m pretty useless with them in Alpha3…
