TGS: Details for today’s Kaz Hirai keynote
It’s on. Again. Tokyo Game Show kicks off this morning with a keynote from Sony superman Kaz Hirai.
His speech starts at 10.30am local time. That’s 2.30am BST, 3.30am CET, 6.30pm PST and 9.30pm EST. The US timings are for today, obviously.
We don’t have anyone “on the ground,” unfortunately, but we’ll be bringing you all the news as it happens. We’ll update this post with links to all the liveblogs as they appear.
Here you go:

Fortunately I think I can sleep soundly and read the :
250GB launching at 300 quid with these bundles !
and

He’ll never live down the “RIIIDDDGGGEE RACERRRRRRRRR!” fiasco will he? Every time I see a pic of him I hear in my head.

his “we’re the official industry leader” that winter was brilliant as well.

This year, ironically, I am even less expectant of Last Guardian being there!
GT5 however, when is Kazunori Yamauchi’s little thing? Isn’t it at 8:30 before the keynote?

Are we expecting ‘megatons’, then? Or just the same as the last two shows with a smattering of added release dates?

Same as the last two.
Unexpected semi-unwanted titles, and some release dates.
TGS is always way overhyped.

There are bound to be a load of ‘maid’ games, though. And probably some ladies in ill-fitting costumes.

I am not all that interested in 90% of the stuff that comes out of Japan anymore anyways. Once in awhile something catches my eye though. It just isn’t like it used be once upon a time.

‘Tokyo Maid Game and Ill-Fitting Costume Show’, would defintely be a show I’d clamour for coverage over.

Hold on, is there a Polyphony Digital conference thing before the keynote?!

Blerk, there’s no such thing as an “ill-fitting costume” when Japanese ladies are concerned. Please get your facts straight – emphasis on *straight*

Issun, I got that impression from NeoGAF that Yamauchi had his own little thing at 8:30am local time.
Perhaps I misread or it was misinformation. Either way if you don’t know about it, I’d argue that it’s not happening…

Didn’t read anything about it. Still, it could happen. Yamauchi would have more time for properly presenting the game.
I hope they do show new footage for The Last Guardian since it’s there.

Added the 1UP link. Can’t find any more at the moment, but I’ll stick them in as soon as they appear.

Sony will own Microsoft this Xmas (although CoD:MW2 will almost certainly sell more on X360).
It would be even more wonderful if they managed to pull ahead of Nintendo for a month in combined hardware and software sales.

PUD, can’t find the sites I originally read it, but Kotaku are now saying they’re expecting to see it.
Incidentally, Kotaku also report that Sony have revealed that GT5 is only 65% complete………….see the TGS liveblog for that. Oh fucking shit.

Right, I need a can of petrol and a box of matches. I’m off to Guildford Sony Centre.
If you see Yamauchi, smack that fucker in the face for me.
Tell my wife I love her……

Kotaku and Team ICO Gamers are saying Last Guardian will be there.
Well, the TIG twitter said it was anyways.

Seen one of the Kotaku pics.
It shows Kaz’s shadow. Just stick that on a child’s wall, tell him he is the Bogeyman and he’ll come out screaming Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidge Raaaaaaaaaacer.

Most pointless, dull, boring keynote ever. What a joke. I get just four hours sleep before work for this?! The only thing we learned about was the Wii price drop…..

Has anyone ever pointed out to the Kotaku reporters that live blogging is greatly enhanced by the following:
1. Bloggers should actually listen to what is said, and report it.
2. Bloggers should not waste time posting their own opinions and trying to be funny.
3. Bloggers should learn how to spell.

The Kotaku live blog largely reads like an IM session between, well, game geeks.
