As if the controls of RE5 weren’t screwed up enough, now they’re adding motion control?? 0_o

The amount of focus on the wand thing is somewhat concerning. I was kind of hoping they’d have a whole bunch of ‘normal’ games to show, not a vast chunk of rehashes and tacked-on gimmicks.

Heh – I only just heard about what actually happened at the Resi 5 demo. Dualshock 3 in one hand, wand in the other! Genius! Or possibly…. stupid!

Thats lame, the wand needs a numchuk in that case.

I dunno – if they let you use one half of a controller instead of shelling out for another controller add on then perhaps that’s a good thing no? Or would you rather be forced to spend another £15 on something you already have?
I’d like to see some 2-wand games too.

why? the wand is already gonna be overpriced and you wanna buy 2 for every player?

Isn’t the wand supposed to have a thumbstick, making the need for a separate one obsolete? I seem to recall them saying something along these lines, but I could be wrong…

@JonFE
The pic from the Hirai speech doesn’t look like it, but that may not be the final design.
@Jadeskye
No. Most games will just need one wand and a lot of people will likely get an extra for two-player games. Using two for a single player game opens up some interesting possibilities though. You could look about with one and aim within the screen with the other in a FPS for example.

@DrDamn
I read that article and saw the picture after this comment and apparently you are right. I still hope that this is not the final design -especially since I’d expect Sony to make a fuss announcing it, if it were- but this may not be the case.
However, I’d imagine it would feel awkward having to hold a standard DS3 pad with one hand…
