Capcom working on unannounced “PC-lead” projects

Friday, 4th September 2009 08:13 GMT By Patrick Garratt

Capcom is working on games designed to lead on PC, US biz head Christian Svensson’s revealed to VG247, with at least one team that has “pedigree” as a PC developer.

“We do have a couple of products in development which are PC-lead, that are not announced yet,” he said. “That doesn’t mean that that content isn’t also going to show up on console, because it will.

“But the pedigree of the team and the primary focus of the design is around the PC, and the largest forecast is on PC for at least one of these projects.

“They’re projects that we’re really excited about: I wish I could say more, but I can’t right now.”

There was no other detail. Svensson was speaking to us in a recording for today’s podcast.

Who knows what will happen. Capcom slated PC sales for one of their titles – but there was a 6 month gap between the console and PC releases. Then they blamed the pirates, not the fact that the game was shit.

If this title is lead, then who knows what is coming up. Apart from Streetfighter(which is brilliant on the PC with an xbox controller), button bashers just dont cut the mustard on PC – if this unannounced title is such a game

I thought all Capcom games lead on PC now? That’s what they were telling us six months ago.

I think they mean a game developed for the PC crowd and less built on PC for console gamers. Then releasing the PC game later than everything anyway even though it was developed on the PC in the first place.
