BioShock 2 multiplayer vid looks 100% awesome
After the break. This looks fucking fantastic. You’ll be playing BioShock 2 in the first half of next year, unless there’s something very wrong with you.

It looked like pure carnage tbh – and not necessarily in the good way.
There was shit flying everywhere and more than a couple of the screens looked staged to look more impressive than they actually would if you were playing.
For example, are they really going to have turret hacking in MP? I mean it takes a while to do those puzzles and you’re cannon fodder while you’re doing it.

I am not much of a Multiplayer person especially FPS but I definately want to play this game. The utter chaos is just so…so…so f**king awesome!!
Would hate to be the person using telekinesis with explosive barrel in hand in that area because all it takes is one stray bullet or fire ball.
@Freedom they stated some abilities will change from the Single player – Multiplayer. They have people testing out the Multiplayer I am sure they will catch on with it that no one will releastic stand there while carnage is going and a single guy is playing pipe dream.

Hacking in MP will probably just have a progression bar rather then the actual puzzle.
Honnestly i see nothing amazing in the trailer, the Big Daddy thing could be good depending on what the objective is i guess but otherwise Bioshock’s controls are just to cluncky for decent competitive play imo.

This the sequel what gripes people have had for the first one are obviously looked at and reevalutated. Also to note they pushed the date back when it was supposed to be out in November to polish it even more. So they have nothing but time to figure out all the gripes…

Wow. How to make Bioshock look completely unappealing in one single video.
I thought that looked awful – that’s absolutely the exact opposite of what I want in a Bioshock sequel.

I really wish multiplayer wasn’t seen as a requirement for just about every game these days. Uncharted 2 is also getting a completely unnecessary multiplayer mode.

Give it a week and everyone will have gone back to Halo 3 and Call of Duty anyway. So what’s the point of even doing it in the first place?

Looks okay to me, a bit similar in speed and intensity to an Unreal Tournament fragfest – but that’s hardly surprising, given Digital Extreme’s pedigree. I prefer games like UT and Quake 3 to CoD4 any day, so I don’t think it looks *that* bad.
What really irks me, though, is that I thought this was supposed to occur *before* the fall of Rapture! Why does everything look so dark and broken already? I wanted to see the city as a shining jewel in the ocean, before it fell into disrepair.

Hey, at least it’s a nice bonus to have as an option. Just hope the time spent on multiplayer didn’t take away from what’s really important which is single player.

Multiplayer was developed by a separate external studio, the Single player team were wholly dedicated to single player.

Reminds me of HL2DM. I think it’s either going to be really fun or really frustrating to play, but, regardless, it’s not something I want from the sequel. I would have just preferred they concentrated on the SP, to be honest.
The problem with online multiplayer games is that the player population seems to gravitate to around 5-6 games, and everything else is usually forgotten a year after launch. If a multiplayer game is just okay, then it won’t get the following it needs and the community dies. In other words, it comes across as a massive waste of time on the developer’s part to develop a multiplayer componant that’s anything other than great. That said, maybe Bioshock 2 will buck the trend.

Anybody who even attempts to get in one of those turrets will be dead in seconds, probably.

Not really if its like first Bioshock a nice blast of Electribolt or a well timed Telekinesis will turn that crap around. Walking into it unexpectedly on the other hand….
Swiss cheese anyone?

I’m sorry I can’t judge multiplayer based on a video. When I play it is when I judge it till then most of your opinions are void until the game is out to the public.
