id Software to ban those with illegal multiplayer build of Wolfenstein, or worse

A multiplayer build of Wolfenstein was leaked last week, and id’s pretty upset about it.
So much so, than anyone who admits to having it will be banned from the forums, or possibly paid a visit by Acti’s legal department.
“It was brought to our attention on Friday, 7/31 that a build of the Wolfenstein Multiplayer was leaked and is now being distributed illegally through breach of NDA and mirrors posted on the internet. I must warn anyone involved that Activision’s legal department is taking this matter very seriously.
“Same applies here on the forums. If you mention that you have acquired this build, you are openly admitting to illegally obtaining the build and will be banned straight away. You have been warned.
“With regards to any footage, screenshots and comments posted here and all over the internet, an important thing to keep in mind is that these were not created from a build of the game that was final or consumer ready.
“There’s nothing we can do about it now except continue working on the game.”
The game is expected to hit retail sometime next week around August 17.

Kotick: I would raise game prices even further
Forgot about this last night. In the Q&A part of the Acti Blizz earnings call, Bobby Kotick said he’d like to see game prices raised even further.
The response came after Mike Griffith answered an analyst question on price points. Here it is in full:
Michael J. Griffith
And then on the second question, Tony, on the pricing, we’ve had for all of our launch titles in the back half of this year, some of which contain peripherals, as you point out, very strong retailer acceptance and support for all parts of our plan, including our merchandising plans, our marketing programs, and our price points.
Robert A. Kotick
And Tony, you know if it was left to me, I would raise the prices even further.
Here’s the Seeking Alpha transcript. After he said it, all the execs started laughing and there was a pause before the next question.
So there you go. £70 here we come!
Thanks, Psychotext.

Batman PC moves to late September, will support PhysX
Squeidosenix just confirmed that the PC version of Batman: Arkham Asylum will not release until September 15 in North America and September 18 in Europe and Australia.
The console SKUs will hit on August 25 as planned.
The publisher also said today that the PC version will support Nvidia’s PhysX tech, which has allowed Rocksteady to “add that little bit extra” for PC fans, according to director Sefton Hill.
Shame they’ll have to wait longer than everyone else.
PR after the break. There’s a couple of PhysX-related screens through there as well.

No more MW2 Prestige packs for retail, says Infinity Ward
Despite obvious demand for the Prestige edition of Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward’s Rob Bowling’s told IGN that no more are to be made after the initial run.
“We’ve already been asked by retailers to up the production numbers due to demand, which we immediately denied,” he said.
“We decided from the beginning that we want this to be for the hardcore fans and early adopters.
“The fact that it is actually limited is one of the coolest parts, which is why we’ve individually numbered every copy.”
They denied that shit, yo. Hit the link for more. It’s out in November, cheap night vision goggles and all.
