Cage: Playing Heavy Rain multiple times will “kill the magic of it”
Heavy Rain has more endings than an on-again, off-again relationship, but creator David Cage would rather you only play through his multi-tailed tale once. Why? Speaking with G4, he explained:
“I would like people to play it once…because that’s life. Life you can only play once…I would like people to have this experience that way.”’
“I’m fine with [people reloading saves to avoid bad endings], but the right way to enjoy Heavy Rain is really to make one thing because it’s going to be your story. It’s going to be unique to you. It’s really the story you decided to write…I think playing it several times is also a way to kill the magic of it.”

I’m sorry, but that’s a pretty idiotic thing for the creator to say…
Regardless, I would think most people will want to go through it at LEAST twice; once to be generally good and the second to kill as many people as possible along the way. Standard karma practice….is it just me..lol?

So I can just play it once and just sell it to Gamestop or do I just rent from gamefly?

So if you play 30 minutes and all your characters die, as it has one ending for that. Nice, no one will replay it to avoid killing the magic and will pay 60$ in a “30 minute game”. 2$ the minute…wow.

Yeah, but that’s a game, not life. Don’t know, but it’s not a good marketing for the game. “Rent it, don’t buy it because it’s bad for replay”. But then they will have trophies of course, a tool specially made for replay lol.

Pse, anyway I will replay it as many times as my obsesive personality with “getting it all” allows me. And at least I will get one ending where no every character is dead, that’s for sure.
