Hans Zimmer confirmed for Modern Warfare 2 score

Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling has confirmed via Twitter that Oscar winner Hans Zimmer is the composer of Modern Warfare 2′s score.
This is his first video game focused work, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Reports yesterday had this rumored, so it’s good to get confirmation on it.
You just know it will be one badass soundtrack.

Meh.
Harry Gregson Williams did a killer job with COD4. Wish it was him.

WaW’s soundtrack was alot better then CoD4′s imo, CoD4 didnt really have any thing memorable, maybe Hans Zimmer can fix that in MW2.

i remember the track during the all ghillied up mission after you took the shot. running from am army of dudes, gets your heart pounding. but yeah for the most part it wasn’t anything special, but certainly not bad.

There was a lot of rip-off of Black Hawk Down and Rainbow Six Rogue Spear in the CoD4 soundtrack.
So, I think it’s probably better to have the genius behind the Black Hawk Down music doing it for Modern Warfare 2 directly. (That’s what happened with Pirates of the Caribean too. The main theme is a rip-off from something you can find in the Gladiator soundtrack composed by Hans Zimmer. So on the second and third film, they hired him directly to do the music)

Remember that when Hans Zimmer does a soundtrack, he has a studio of other composers who help him do the work.
HGW was one of those composers; They’re all pretty much interchangeable as far as I’m concerned.
