Gears of War 2: GoTY edition coming to stores [UPDATE]

Epic has confirmed to us the release date for the Gears 2 GoTY Edition. Press release added past the break. We have mailed Microsoft UK for confirmation of the UK release.

Original Story: A Gears of War 2: Game of the Year Edition is coming to retail.

According to reports, the disc will contain the full game with the All Fronts pack which includes Flashback, Combustible, Dark Corners and the Snowblind map packs along with the Road to Ruins campaign.

GameStop has it listed for $40 and Amazon for $37 and both have it listed for a September 1 release.

All officially released “Gears of War 2” game content to be available in one retail package

For players who have yet to experience the blockbuster action of “Gears of War 2,” Microsoft Game Studios is making it easy to jump into all the excitement with the launch of “Gears of War 2: Game of the Year Edition” on September 1 in the United States.

This offering ships with Game of the Year “Gears of War 2” plus the comprehensive “Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection” Game Add-on, which includes all 19 extra multiplayer maps, the “Road to Ruin” campaign chapter and every Achievement to date worth a total of 1750 Gamerscore. “Gears of War 2: Game of the Year Edition” will be offered at the estimated retail price of $39.99 (U.S.).

“Gears of War 2” is available exclusively on Xbox 360 and is rated “M” for Mature by the ESRB.
