MS’s GC Press Event: Fable III dated for 2010 [Update]

fable2seethefuture

Peter Molyneux has dated Fable III at MS’s presser this morning

2010 is when you can expect it, but don’t have your hopes for early 2010.

“Don’t expect it too early in 2010″

See what happened here. The game was announced this morning.

Update: Microsoft’s just released the PR for the game. In it, they mention the game is aimed for a “holiday 2010″ release.

Painstakingly obvious. PR is here.

It’s as if they didn’t talk about anything but Fable III.

Isn’t there going to be a “hands on” showing of NATAL?

If it comes out in 2010 I’ll be utterly surprised. Lionhead games are always great, but always late.

If they manage to get it out in 2010 I can imagine the bugs may be more game breaking than those found in Fable 2 at launch.

They already have an engine, it’s probably just a content-swap. So chances are it won’t take a gazillion years. That said… Lionhead. :-D

Updated.

They just said in the PR just released that they’re aiming for Christmas 2010. :D

I’d be worried that this sequel is being churned out so quickly and prefer they take their sweet ass time to make it perfect.

Well, I’m a very, very happy man. I thought this was years away.

Normally it takes Lionhead 4 years to do anything :P

I have to say, I wish they would ditch Milo, it’s just a tech demo, don’t try and push it out as a product.

Could be both. I would have said that the Wiimote, or Eyetoy, was just a tech demo, and they’ve done alright.
