Sony’s GC Press Event: First official shots from PS3 Slim

As if our pics straight from the event weren’t good enough for you, Sony’s revealed the first official shots of the Ps3 Slim.

They’re at elhabib. Go get them.

It’s the worst kept secret ever, but’s it’s all over at last. You can sleep easy tonight.

IGN’s got shots of every angle of the system. Only 2 USB ports and no media card slots.

Some other details are also being mentioned on other forums
1) Bravia Sync in other words HDMI control is coming definitely to the slim but unsure about past models in firmware 3.0.

Basically you can set it to auto turn on/off everything (TV/Sound system etc) at the touch of a button. Although from experience its not the easiest of things to set up and not all manufacturers version of HDMI control works with the others (Panasonic’s does on my Sony sound system).

2) Bit-streaming HD audio is also a feature on the slim.

3) Installing linux for PS3 is no longer possible with the slim.
