Interesting.

You know, if this takes off, it might just prove a valid point for reducing the price of video games.

"I think there’s a big difference between selling games and selling music. Radiohead have a loyal following. On the other hand, why on earth would anyone give Eidos more than 1p ?"

Because Championship Manager has a loyal fanbase and has been around for years as well..?

This.

That said, fair play to them for trying it. You wouldnt see Acti, EA, Ubi or anyone else try something like that.

"<i>I wonder if the game is actually any good though?</i>"

Have you tried the demo?

Best Champman I've ever played, tbh.

Plus, I can't see Eidos bothering to embargo any reviews when there is a demo out for everyone to try anyway.

If more devs start doing this sort of thing it's bound to be good news for gamers, I'm sure.

Definitely good news for the consumer!

At a time when the games industry is creeping towards a blanket price rise, Eidos should be given a lot of credit for this move

I wonder if the game is actually any good though?

Since Sports Interactive left and made Football manager, Champ Manager has gone backwards.
Will this be any different.

Also, what's the betting they impose a review embargo, meaning that the game wont be released for review until it's actually released, meaning they can maximise pre-order sales.
Granted, with this scheme they wont make a hell of a lot of cash, but the more they get out the door the better.

It a good idea, if it does well maybe (by a small chance) more games may take this route.
