ASDA drops PS3 80GB price to £249

Tuesday, 18th August 2009 13:26 GMT By Johnny Cullen

ASDA’s confirmed that it’s dropped the price of the 80GB Playstation 3 in the UK down to £249.

The supermarket chain is offering the 80GB along with Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines on Blu-ray and Terminator Salvation: The Game as well as a choice of either Ghostbusters or inFamous.

A ASDA rep told GI that the offer would run until stock ran out.

Yip, the price-cut is getting more likely by the hour. Only four hours and thirty-four minutes left to go before the ‘tons start to drop.

Think that may have been a Asda Spokesperson as Sony haven’t confirmed the drop yet.

It is looking more likely though that a slim is on the way, or maybe not lol.

    Gotta love all this speculation.

Do pay attention 007, I posted this hours ago :)

What’s the time delay on the “Beatles coming to singstar” story I posted in News over an hour ago ? :)

Or have you got an embargo on that…?

“Do you have to take the Terminator game?”

More to the point, how much will GameStation give me for it if I put it towards MGS4?

If its US $299 for a Slim, it could easily be £199 in the UK based on todays exchange rate.

    299.00 USD = 181.864 GBP

Dont count on it Robster – £250 is more than likely as it seems to be €299.

    You forgot VAT Robster.

Add £30 to your calculation. Then add the extra “UKSHOPPERSTAKEITUPTHEARSE” tax.

There was a rumour on the EG thread about £239 this morning.

In which case why not buy one from the US (region free) for circa £190 and pay £10 shipping.

Bobs you Uncle, Ps3 Slim for £199.

Surely Sony cant be stupid enough to price the UK model at £249.

What do they think we are? Stupid. (rhetorical question)

Surely $299 in the US includes some sort of sales tax? ie equivalent or similar to VAT?

Scrap that, I just noticed its $299 pre tax @ KMART

Robster; US prices are always with no tax, as tax varies from state to state.

Don’t forget your import duty, Robster.
