Rumour – I Am Alive canned for PS3 [Update]

iamalive2

Update: False alarm. Website now shows the PS3 version as well as PC and 360.

Original Story: It just gets worse and worse, innit?

According to a listing on the Ubisoft website, I Am Alive has been canned for the Playstation 3, yet it’s still listed for a release on PC and Xbox 360.

This can’t end well, right? It’s switched studios, been delayed past April 2010 and apparently slated for a 2011 release.

On the plus side I’d rather have no ps3 version at all than the technically inept versions lots of people churn out…

What the hell was it?

I’ve got a horrible feeling this is going to end up canned on all platforms. Or turn out shit.

A ‘fantastic success’ at this point doesn’t appear likely.

I’m making a note here: no huge success.

I can’t see this myself. Ubisoft have always done well on PS3, and they’ve clearly got their PS3 tech in order. All this just before a PS3 price cut which is going to surge sales of the console.

Hmmm… I’m guessing it’s either a mistake on the site, or MS have paid for exclusivity.

If it true is another stupid Ubisoft decision. PS3 games sold more copies than PC ports. PS3 games more money, PC ports no money.

“Ubisoft have always done well on PS3″

Ass Creed is one of the worst ps3 conversion jobs I’ve played.

PoP was good though…

Oh, that would be a shame. It looked like the first decent survival game in ages.

I’m not sure I believe this. I reckon it’s canned for real or it’s releasing on all the HD platforms.

“Ass Creed is one of the worst ps3 conversion jobs I’ve played.”

Not one of the PS3′s glory moments, that’s for sure – although the patch they issued did clear up some of the bigger choke points.

I was specifically talking about sales though.

I think Psychotext is right though, I think this is either a prelude to a full canning, or it’s a simple mistake.

@Syrok, perhaps someone is trying to spoil Sony’s party this week.

I sense a dark presence called Micro$oft in this info.

Guys check the Ubi site… The Playstation 3 is back in the drop down list along with a concept boxart cover… So i guess it is not canned…

I went to that link and the PS3 version is still listed as far as I can see.

It’s listed now, it’s been fixed.

I edited the article anyways.
