SCEE just confirmed its GamesCom line-up via press preview invites, and it’s a comprehensive list holding few shocks.
Definites for PS3 are:
- Heavy Rain
- Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
- God of War III
- MAG
- EyePet
- Ratchet and Clank: A Crack In Time
- SingStar
- Buzz!
- White Knight Chronicles
- DC Universe
You’ll be seeing the following for PSP:
- Gran Turismo
- Invizimals
- MotorStorm: Arctic Edge
- LittleBigPlanet
- Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier
- SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3
Services and other gubbins confirmed are:
- “Lots of PlayStation Network games,” including Gravity Crash
- VidZone
- PlayStation Home
- PSP go
Sony’s GamesCom press conference takes place on Tuesday August 18, from 18.00-21.00pm CET.
EA, Activision and Square also just posted their line-ups for the show.

EDIT: Razor, history has taught us that just because it’s left out of a list, it doesn’t actually mean it wont be there.

The most exciting part of that list is, “lots of PlayStation Network games”. Not that I’m uninterested in the disc titles — I’ll be very surprised if Uncharted 2 isn’t my game of the year — they’re just something of a known quantity.
Having said that, I’m sure the things that aren’t on the list will be the most interesting. If the slim PS3 isn’t announced then A&E is going to be chock full of people choking on their own hats at this point, but there could be some interesting service announcements too: PS2 backwards compatibility, European video store, new firmware features, direction of Home, etcetera.

I think it’s about time we saw a big firmware update. Not so much as design change like NXE, but definitely need to see something substantial.

If they dont announce a proper date for the Vid store in Cologne, you may as well forget about.
Then again, it did take a while for PlayTV and VidZone to come to Europe. PlayTV was announced in Leipzig two years ago, but it didnt come out till September last year, right?
And VidZone was announced last August, but that didn’t release till June.
That said, it’s still ridiculous how long its been between America and EU for this as it is a pretty big feature for the PS3.

Did Sony say if it was going to be country specific or a blanket store for Europe? I wouldn’t mind checking out some others countries TV programming, particularly the Netherlands…

It will be at TGS, it’s coming out Q1 2010 according to Yoshida.
It WAS slated for this year, believe it or not, Yoshida said now it’s playable, it will be seen a lot more. So it’s WILL be at TGS. Just I doubt it will be at GamesCOM, like Johnny.
