EG’s reporting that studio director and executive producer Matt Wilson, art director Corey Dangel, and producer John Smith from SOE’s Seattle studio have all left to form a new company.

SOE’s northwestern outfit is currently working on MMO The Agency.

The posse have launched a new studio called Detonator Games, as confirmed here.

SOE’s assured the game won’t be affected by the moves, saying there’ll be no “reboot”.

I was looking forward to this!?

/wonders if this offshoot will end up doing the same as the last offshoot, that is, crawling back to SOE for publishing purposes :P

this game isn’t going to work. I’m still having a tough time understanding the concept and how the gameplay will work

It’s mostly a co-op shooter, with objectives and quest hubs. I’d imagine it’ll run down the lines of DDO if you have played that, where you get quest, go to location and then you get your party instanced and scripted zone to do your mission in.

yea but how in the hell are they going to have it all run smoothly like the concept. its just like MAG. i don’t see it working well because PSN isn’t as well built as Live

“i don’t see it working well because PSN isn’t as well built as Live”

The differences between Live and PSN aren’t relevant here. The game will work as well as the servers which are setup for it.

Yeah, it’s still gonna be on MMO style servers.

It is relevant on live you have easier invites and ingame voice chat that makes the experience that much more immersive and fluid. The servers will be fine, that’s not my concern. PSN servers are much more stable than live P2P style any day.
