Nintendo: Lifetime Wii and DSi figures
Hidden in the PDF file we posted earlier for you chock full of Nintendo financials for Q1, were figures for lifetime sales of current Nintendo consoles.
Well, just for Wii and DSi really.
Here’s the rub:
Wii: 52.6 million
DSi: 6.7 million
Note that the DSi launched in Europe on April 3, followed by North America three days later. It debuted in Japan November 1, 2008.

isn’t it the same thing as a DS but with a crappy camera that no game dev has used for gaming yet. The Japanese aren’t that stupid, although they do go crazy over new color releases

no. It’s got DSIWARE and internet browser. Not that big of a evolution, but not as shit as you think it is

ps2 is still selling pretty well for a nine year old console. Hardcore and casual both enjoyed the ps2. it seems only the casuals are really the wii’s main audience. we have to wait and see. If they release a wii HD that system doesn’t count.

The DS Lite was a massive improvement over the original horrid DS, but the DSi just didn’t seem to do much more really. And it doesn’t have a GBA slot.

what are you talking about. I’m talking about the PS2 and Wii. The Wii can’t touch PS3 and isn’t a direct competitor like Xbox360 is. We all know the reasons why the Wii took off so well. Good for Nintendo. Don’t get cocky Kid because Nintendo got their asses kicked by Sony two generations in a row.
You trying to start a flame war and I’m not. I’m stating the obvious. You think the Wii is fun and the only console you need, well good for you. I’v moved on like every other hardcore gamer has with better graphics and better gameplay. Enjoy your Wii and be happy Nintendo is relevant again in the gaming world.
