Japanese hardware charts – Dragon Quest keeps the DS dream alive

dragonquestlogo1

Dear Mr Square,

Just a note to say thanks for Dragon Quest IX. We really like those little dudes, and all the fighting and shit. You’ve done a great job. If you could just bring out more than one a decade, that’d be awesome: we’ve sold almost 290,000 DSes in the past three weeks in Japan. It’s just peachy.

Beer next week? As long as we don’t end up in that tit place again, we’re good.

Cheers,

Mr Nintendo

:D Lovely stuff.

Interesting to note Wii Sports Resort has done VERY little to affect Wii sales to any notable degree. That said, PS3′s dropped back a fair bit compared to Nintendo’s console, when recently it was ahead for a few weeks. Mind you, Monster Hunter and the new black console will make a bit of a difference in seven days’ time.

Seems a really slow Japanese market at the moment, the odd tentpole release aside.
