Sony and Universal have inked a deal that'll see the latter's music heading to SingStar.

SingStore™ signs Universal Music

PlayStation® deal with music giant brings Universal Music hits to SingStore for everyone to sing

London, 23rd July: Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has signed a deal with Universal Music UK that will see hit songs from Universal Music coming to SingStore™, the online store for SingStar™ on PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) throughout SCEE territories. This is great news for SingStar fans, with more chart-topping hits from the biggest names, more choice and more songs to sing with your friends and family. The first major instalment will be arriving on 8th August 2009, including classic hits from Elton John and The Police, right up to the latest sounds of Kaiser Chiefs and The Killers.

SingStar is also pleased to announce that, due to popular demand from the SingStar community, it has brought the SingStore release of The Jackson Five’s I Want You Back forward to 23rd July - two weeks ahead of the August instalment.

“As the biggest name in competitive singing, SingStar is delighted to partner with the world’s leading music company,” says Dave Ranyard, Executive Producer of SingStar. “The SingStore for SingStar PS3 is all about choice, about calling the shots yourself and having Universal Music on board will give SingStore users the biggest choice of pop hits ever.”
