Report: Media Molecule to release History Pack August 13

Next Gamer has reported that Media Molecule will release the History Pack for LittleBigPlanet August 13 thanks to word on the EU PS forums and the Japanese Sony site.
The pack consists of Boudica, Countess of Lovelace, Genghis Khan, and Mozart with stickers and decorations and according to translations from the Japanese site, a second bit of DLC will include the sound effects and a new level kit.
Hopefully we will know about it soon.

Some will take this the wrong way….but I have to ask…..is there such a thing as TOO MUCH DLC?!?!?! Loved the MGS level pack…just tired of the costumes and stickers….but I’m sure some of you eat these up.

your question should be directed at syrok, he’s the LBP nut around here. I’m curious whether he has platinum the game or not and how much dlc he’s bought so far.

No platinum, because I can’t be bothered to ace all levels and I only bought the MGS DLC and downloaded all free stuff, because the rest are quite frankly useless for me as I mostly create levels.

I suspect you’ll find it’s parents like me who have the most DLC – my kids can’t get enough costumes.
Personally I wish they’d slow up on them and get some more packs like MGS out.
But given I’ve spent more on DLC than the game itself, no doubt like many other parents, I can’t see them slowing up anytime soon.
I’d love to know the profit margin on LBP if you included DLC to the original sales.

Yep I’m getting f*cked off with the focus on costumes instead of new tools or developer levels.
PS Syrok’s levels are great.

Played LBP for the first time in ages last night. Forgot how much I loved playing it – even when trying to ace a tricky level. Got there in the end.
DLC wise I really don’t care if they chuck out lots of costumes. If it helps them make money then why not? Obviously people are buying them. I don’t see it as taking focus away from the DLC I do buy (like MGS) as that sort of thing requires a much broader range of people. It’s not like the next bit is being held up because they have an artist chucking out new costumes every week is it?
