Dante’s Inferno says “no” to PC

Sorry PC gamers. Dante’s keeping his Inferno to himself. Speaking with Big Download, an EA PR rep shot down any hopes of a PC version of the hotly anticipated game.
“When Dante’s Inferno was originally announced in December, we attached no platforms to the project. When we came out with a first look for press in February we announced 360/PS3 and then in April we announced PSP. We never announced a PC SKU nor are there plans for any,” the rep said.
Oh well. Maybe PC gamers will have better luck the next time a major publisher decides to turn a contemplative literary masterpiece into a decidedly violent hack ‘n’ slash.

From what I heard about Dead Space’s PC conversion, we’re better off without it.

In hindsight (of 10 seconds) I realise I just talk shit for the sake of it. If I ever disagree with you (aimed at everyone) ask me if I am just doing it for the sake of doing it.

@Hunam was the PC version buggy or something?

It wasn’t bugs, it just felt like a console game, complete with the mouse emulating the right stick rather than proper mouse tracking.

Well truth be told , if they released a pc version , a good quarter of the people playing the game would have pirated it .

I’d rather play an inferior console version than a shitty console port, which is exactly what I’ll do. Leave the definitive PC versions to the big boys, thanks.

PC version of Dead Space was pretty bloody good for me, although I did play it with a 360 controller (although I tried it with KBAM too, and it seemed OK).

And on the EA website in the PC section they say that they deliver quality games to the PC like Dante’s Inferno. Yeah right.

Well I am as happy as a Woodchuck with corn up his butt, because all 9 of my computers and 2 laptops I own, became useless and need at least another couple of $1000s in upgrades the day after I bought them.. I will now stick with my consoles thank you…OMG I am so glad that I don’t have to pop the hood on my console and run Cooling tubes full of Antifreeze to keep my Double humping Graphics cards from burning down my house, though this might keep my 360 running longer!!!

Modern “beat em up’s” (God of War clone take your pick) on PC don’t sell, that is pretty obvious.
Despite the whining from some PC gamers about EA they are the platforms biggest supporters so a game not coming out on the PC would have a good reason to do so.
For the same reason there is no C&C4 on consoles EA knows its a waste of time.

Wait what?
When was the last time a God of War clone appeared on the PC in order to not sell? DMC4 did really quite well because it was a high quality port of a good game.
EA the biggest supporter? Eh? So thats The Sims then. Uh huh.
Prototype released on PC at the sametime as the console versions and it was still a massive success, whats the problem here?

I can’t see how the control scheme would have mapped that well over to M&KB anyway.

You mean like Street Fighter?
It doesn’t have to map over well.

Well, as 360 pads connect to PC and modern PC games will automap controls as they are on 360 kind of removes the KB+M barrier, but Dead Space was a shooter and so KB+M was kind of essential in my books. I’ve not actually played the PC version, just going by what I’ve heard (my defense
). With a 360 pad DMC4 was pretty tops, and the port was amazingly done too, kudos to Capcom on that, even if they didn’t stick any copy protection on at all. Not even a CD key :S
