Japanese hardware sales – DSi goes mental on DQIX launch

The final Media Create Japanese hadrware sales for the week have shown that, as predicted, DS exploded on the launch of Dragon Quest IX, nearly tripling from last week to almost 130,000 sales across DSi and DS Lite.

Numbers below for the week ending July 12.

  • DSi – 118,202
  • PSP – 26,527
  • Wii – 22,141
  • DS Lite – 10,161
  • PS3 – 9,864
  • Xbox 360 – 3,561
  • PS2 – 3,508

Thats a lot less then I thought it would be.

Didnt the PS3 sell 180,000 one week in April, just for the Final Fantasy XIII demo.
