DS sales soar in Japan thanks to Dragon Quest IX

Thanks to Dragon Quest IX, Nintendo sold more than twice as many DS units  last week in Japan compared to the previous week.

For the week ending July 12, figures state that 126,786 DS handhelds were sold, up from 51,601 units the previous week and exceeding the 100,000-unit mark for the first time in a year and a half.

Debuting July 11, it was reported Monday that Dragon Quest IX sold 2.32 million units during its first two days on the market.
