It’s microsft basic trying to destory the pc gaming platform too. Microsft has not made any real pc games in 2 years. They basicly didn’t want game devs and publishers to talk about any thing about pc gaming at E3. Why because their consoles are not making money and microsft is in the red.

As for the entertainment division, they made $426m in year ending 2008 and currently stand at $298m for Q1 – Q3 of year ending 2009.

So euh, next to all that meaningful linking, does anyone catch the irony of this “PC version comes later, if at all” statement? A year or two ago Remedy have been showing off Alan Wake on special Intel events and made so much fuss about it that it could only run on Vista (aka DX10). That’s all gone now then?

Seems like Microsoft Game Studios really have closed down all their PC activities. Joy… not.

@BDH: Sony haven’t lost a cent on their gaming division overall, they’re still well in profit. Microsoft obviously lost large amounts of money in their entertainment division originally, but that’s what comes of buying yourself into the marketplace. They’re making steady profits now, and the Q3 results are hardly surprising given it covers January to March… a particularly weak part of the year for gaming. They’ll still be comfortably in profit for the full year.

You like to talk about investors a lot… but I don’t think you realise that investors care about profits going forward and what’s happening now, not what happened in the past.

yea I am sure investoer know about the decline in sales right in a recssion. Sony is hope for a long cicyle which will must likely not happen.

there was a study just done gamers don’t want to shelllout $60 per a game or 100 per game. they are renting and buying used games. the console deline is just going to get bigger from here on in. Unless maybe motion controls works which i highly dumbt.

they may cut price tag on consoles, they get a boost there
but it’s not going to help sony. Sony is just going to lose more and more if the nintendo and xbox360 is around.
