The Sims 3 has done pretty well to get to #7 on that list considering it’s only been out a month.

Oh yeah Wii Play launch title at number fucking 2. Its good to know Nintendo has filled the Wii with quality releases since its arrival.

Nintendo takes the top four places for UK sales in 2009? Hardly a surprise. Killzone 2 the biggest non-Nintendo seller? News, given the internet meme that insists it flopped.

That is quite surprising, actually. Especially given that Resi 5 was multiformat and they brayed quite loudly about how well that had sold. I guess Killzone must’ve been a slow burner or something – not long in the charts, but selling consistently afterwards.

It’s a wii-mote with a few mini-games priced at a similar level to the standard wii-mote. When people come to buy a second wii-mote which one do you think they choose? It is the hardware driving the sales not the software.

It appears to me that one of the big, unwritten rules of the gaming and technology community is to ignore Sony’s successes and innovations whenever possible, and highlight their failures or mistakes at every available opportunity.

Case in point demonstrating the former: at the beginning of 2009 SCEA (Koller?) commented that Facebook and Twitter integration *into PS3 games* was “closer than you might think”. I saw it reported on one, PS3-oriented website, and that’s it. Then, months later, MS mention Facebook and Twitter 360-integration (but, if my memory serves me correctly, did not mention integration into actual games) and we all know what happened next: “revolutionary….great idea….this is why Live is better….next big thing in gaming….” etc etc.

Sony didn’t actually do it though, did they?

Actually, I think it was only a few analysts who got excited about the Facebook/Twatter thing. I don’t recall seeing any actual gamers who were getting giddy over the concept.

I give credit were credit is due. The guy with the idea who does nothing with it doesn’t deserve any credit. The guy that has the same idea and actually runs with it deserve the pat on the back.

Microsoft did give an example of Facebook integration with Tiger Woods: you can take a screenshot and then upload it to Facebook immediately.

yeah, so what? I could buy a game to stick my penis inside the disc. Truth is one would think its a game with a wiimote attached on, and some other bloke would think it is in fact a controller with a few minigames attached on. They’re buth right, and wrong

The price comparison between a wiimote and a wiimote with Wii Play dictates that it is a controller with some minigames attached.

Er, haven’t yet, Blerk. That doesn’t mean they never will (did you read the quote?). And anyway, how many games do you have on 360 right now that hook up to Facebook or Twitter? You talk as if it’s been delivered and is working today on 360 games.
