Grandmaster Flash “plays” DJ Hero

djhero51

MTV Multiplayer has posted a video of hip-hop’s top of the pops Grandmaster Flash “playing” DJ Hero.

We say “playing” because he spends a combined total of roughly 30 seconds attempting to divine the arcane wizardries behind the controller’s three large buttons before giving up. Not his finest moment, clearly.

As per usual with MTV, the video can’t be accessed if you live in Canada or the U.K. If cruel fate didn’t leave you stranded in one of those no Flash zones, the video’s after the break.

You’d have to be Grandmaster Flash to actually afford it, if those UK RRPs that were doing the rounds yesterday are actually true.

Grandmaster Flash is an old codger. He’s rubbish. I saw him at Love Box (Groove Armada’s festival thing) in London a few years back. He came on stage, talked shit for ages, then rambled on about “taking it back to the old school, back to the old school” for about an hour. We we all a bit drunk by then and were shouting “PLAY SOME MUSIC!” and “HIP-HOP, HIP-HOP!”, other people around us all joined in too… It was crazy.. he then talked about his son for a bit, we shouted some more, and eventually he dropped Groove is in the heart by Deelite.. that is old school, but not exactly hip hop… it was a joke.. he didnt mix, his scratching was terrible.. He’s needs to practice on DJ Hero, thats why he plays it!!
