“Fable III” and “announcement” recently seen together in public

Shame it’s not an announcement of the game. Nope. Not even a little. Instead, Fable III recently found itself in a wedding announcement. A wedding announcement posted in the New York Times.
“Amy E. Gilbert and Joshua Samuels Atkins are to be married Sunday in San Francisco. Rabbi Bruce Greenbaum is to officiate in the Penthouse of the Fairmont Hotel,” the announcement said. “Mr. Atkins, 34, is the lead game designer for Fable III, a videogame series produced by Lionhead Studios in Guildford, England.”
Previously on As The PR Machine Spins, Jonathan Ross mentioned Fable III via Twitter. Peter Molyneux later claimed that Ross was mistaken, blaming much of the mishap on drunken developers begging Ross for favors.
This time, we’re sure it’s a typo. What else could it be? Not an actual sequel, surely. That’d be downright crazy.
Thanks, Kotaku.

I hope it is a proper sequel. And I hope it’s a surprise announcement and ready for this Christmas. That’d be super.

aye, it would be nice if they “officially” announce it late in the development cycle… Announcing a new game with 2+ years worth of development left is a real gear grinder.

One story is hardly ‘apeshit’. And everywhere else covered this too. And Peter wasn’t actually involved.

Wonder if they’ve listened to the problems of Fable 2?

You mean the big lists we put together Lutz?

I didn’t see any lists.
I don’t know how useful Fable will be once Elder Scrolls V comes.

They’re entirely different games, Pud. You can’t really compare them.

I just did.
And if I want a fantasy RPG, that’s what I’d go for. That’s all I am saying. Not that it matters what I say.

Psycho: Yup, those big lists! Lionbum seems to have his head screwed on though. Fingers crossed.
Pud: The lists aren’t here, they’re on eurogamer. And Blerk is right, you can’t compare them. Yes, they’re fantasy RPGs, but Micro Machines and Forza Motorsport are both racing games. Seems daft to compare them. Or Halo and Call of Duty. Or Crazy Golf and Tiger Woods 2010.

“Not that it matters what I say.”
Truth!
…and you didn’t see any lists because you’re afraid of the EG main forums. Not that you’d have been in the Fable 2 thread anyway.

Haha, it seriously DOESN’T matter what I say when it comes to Fable.
But I would and I DO compare Halo and CoD along with Forza and Micro Machines… I’d even compare Mario Kart.
The whole point of a genre, is they are comparable.
Simulation versus arcade is just minutiae within a genre. And Fable is a fantasy RPG executed differently to Oblivion. Which would I prefer? That was my point.

Having said that, I like that Psychotext acknowledged that I wasn’t trolling the Eurogamer Fable 2 Thread xD
I am so proud.
