Hulu blocked on PS3
According to this Engadget piece, Hulu’s been specifically blocked on PS3 browsers.
Why? No one knows, but the error message PS3 users now get when trying to access the site doesn’t make it sound like a fault: “Unfortunately, this video is not available on your platform. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
Hulu‘s a big-in-America internet TV thing. Europeans can’t watch, which sucks, because it’s actually really good.
At least American PS3 users are now in the same boat. See how you like it, eh?

Am i biased in saying if it;’s a move like that it’s extremely dickheaded, and slightly monopolising?

No, I wouldn’t say that was particularly biased. I’m not sure about the whole monopolising thing though… Sony are obviously able to compete to get the services (such as Netflix, Sky, Canal+ for example). They just obviously choose not to.

Isn’t PSN already offering a rental service for TV shows in the US? Maybe Sony or their content providers don’t like the idea of people being able to get the same shows through Hulu?

i took a look at the vid store yesterday Vincent and I can say content is over flowing in there. So much stuff to choose from and they even throw you a free movie or tv show from time to time.

Hulu has been putting the lockdown on ways to play it outside of the regular PC browser. This may have nothing to do with MS, but Hulu’s want to stop just anyone form accessing it. There have been discussions they might be going subscription only.
Playon media server allowed youtube and Hulu on the 360, but im not sure if Hulu put the clamps on that as well.
