Romero brands Zenimax id buy as “disgusting”

romero

Ex-id, ex-ION Storm “legend” John Romero clearly isn’t a fan of Zenimax buying id Software.

On hearing the news, Romero tweeted, “ZENIMAX??????? Disgusting.”

Good gravy. There was more. Big John went on to claim that “Fallout 3 bought DOOM.”

Romero’s making iPhone games at the moment.

Thanks, GamerVision.

Eh?

PS. Ah wait, I see. You were subtly reproaching me for having a dig at the iPhone. Did you by any chance miss the smiley?

Zenimax doesn’t want to make Romero their bitch.

For the record, I rather enjoy iPhone games :)

The RPG selection sucks, though.

I was going to be mean and smite Romero for his words, but what can i possibly add really, when so much has already been thrown his way.

@dirigiblebill – I agree, it does suck. The iphone is perfect for RPG’s, why arent more people making them?

One word for ya… DAIKATANA. Nuff said. John is entitled to his opinion. At least it was not sold to EA or Activision.

What’s up with that “legend” bullshit PAT?

Because he’s infamous rather than famous, it’s fairly obvious.

Having met Romero at GDC this year I can say he really is an egotistical cock…

As for Daikatana, utter garbage that was years late and out of date.

…yet people are still talking about it, apparently.

“…yet people are still talking about it, apparently.”

So games are such huge classics that they’re never forgotten. The same applies for the really bad games too.

The best thing Romero ever did outside of ID was Hire warren spector and make him part of Ion Storm.
For that, I can thank him…….

What did this article say..I can’t stop staring at his luxurious long black hair and the sudden need to pee on it…Does that make me weird??

Perhaps Bethesda can make a modern Doom that’s actually some good? Fallout-style Doom RPG, please!

Good idea, that…

A graphical remake of Doom 1, keeping the gameplay intact would be nice too I think. Being able to look up and down is overrated… :p
