The Conduit gets 8.6 from IGN

IGN’s given The Conduit 8.6/10, which is likely to come as relief to the Wii “hardcore”. Snip:
It’s not revolutionary, but the Conduit is a great first-person shooter designed just for Wii owners. While the game does not turn the genre upside-down, it is innovative in certain areas — for example, it features the most customizable, precise and enjoyable controls of any console shooter created, hands down.
The campaign’s five-to-eight hours long, apparently. Sounds like it could be a lot worse. Hit the link for the full thing.

Hmm. A ‘first out the gate’ IGN review of a Nintendo game by, of all people, Matt Casamassina.
Yeah, I think I’ll wait for second and third opinions from more historically objective people.

ONM gave it 76% in their last issue. Make of that what you will.
I think the IGN score will be one of the highest it gets, anyway.

I like what I’ve seen of the Conduit to be fair. If I was buying games at the moment, I’d certainly be buying this.

Every time someone says that Wii controls ‘reinvent the genre’, I always find them fiddly and uncomfortable.

that’s what my sister says, as well. She ditched MP3 because of the controls, she played it for 30 seconds and left the room in pain
