God of War III – 13 minutes of gameplay

Today is a good day. First, 18 minutes of StarCraft II, and now a whopping 13 minutes of God of War III gameplay.
It’s out March 2010. Thanks, Kotaku. Hit the link.

Wow
It’s evolution more than revolution, but it looks absolutely fierce. I’ve yet to see anything which backs up Jaffe’s “painting in motion” claims, but it does look excellent.

Finally a killer app for the PS3 that I’m interested in.
I very well may pick up a PS3 at xmas thanks to this bad boy.

This and Alan Wake were my disappointments of E3. I expected a lot more from both games. =/

Hmm… what more could you expect from God of War? It’s…. God of War. I didn’t expect them to do anything unexpected, just take the originals and dial them up to 11. Which it appears to do rather nicely.

Graphically it’s fine, but the gameplay was slow and didn’t spark any excitement from me. Maybe I’ll see something in the future that changes that opinion.

Did you like the first two?

Hmmm, it’s not really much of an improvement over the stupendous GoW I and II games, and certainly not what was hyped up by Jaffe. Slightly disappointed.

Wow. If they can just bring that music up a few notches to match the EPIC themes of the earlier games then I’ll have no complaints. Even so, that’s a pretty great first 13 minutes of any videogame. Very good cut right at the end too.
Kratos > all

I dunno what some of you were expecting but it looks exactly like what I was expecting: Kratos next gen, updated graphics and combat with a continuation of the story.
BTW, looked like Kratos was attacking that Titan, curious given he was supposed to be allied with them at the end of the 2nd, me thinks there be more plot twists in this tangled story.

Just to precursor this, I don’t really want to get it.
But as far as I understand, God of War has always been a known quantity.
Not as a downer for Alan Wake Psycho, but I can understand disappointment with that, since it wasn’t known at all (not becuase it was bad). But GoW is GoW.
Isn’t it?

Yes, but I’ve played a number of other games in the last couple of years too which has quite likely changed my take on the genre.
By the way, I’ll still be buying it. But I was expecting to be really excited by it, and I’m just not.

Well I guess all I can suggest is wait to see more of both.
I hope they both get better to your view, and certainly God of War needs to get better to me, I am not into it.

that wasnt really all that jazz, visually talking. Being honest here, GOW is probably the only one game I’d buy a PS3 for, if it was 100$

It looks graphically liek God of War, I agree.
It’s onyl when the camera pulls in that it looks superb.
At the beginning, and when he’s holding Helios’ head, it looks like the CG from the last game, but otherwise, it looks like God of War.
To me, if I were art director of the game, I’d have put serious work into making that game look amazing first and foremost, from the longshot the game is played at. Or at least have looked at ways of differentiating it in that view.

you guys only seen 13 minutes of an 8 hour plus game and say you’re disappointed, but saw 2 minutes of halo 3 and wet your pants.
This game is more brutal and bloodier than ever and you expected more? what a threesome scene during the game play?
It will be in the final product no doubt about that but when the first two lead developers leave the project you better believe the 3rd guy ain’t gonna fix something that’s not broken.
