Famitsu – Awesome Bayonetta scans

The latest Famitsu’s thrown up some lovely Bayonetta images, as scanned by GoOnl!ne.
It’s a hardcore must for the end of the year. Unless you hated Devil May Cry, in which case it probably isn’t.
Check it out.

Not much of a DMC fan. Didn’t like the 1st, 2nd or 4th games. The third was tits.
Will pick up Bayonetta based on review scores, it looks pretty sweet… But so do all games at this point in the dev cycle.

Wildly mixed messages on this one. A couple of months back we had them saying they wanted it to be ‘sadistically hard’, then in this month’s Edge interview they say they want it to be so accessible that even your gran could complete it.
Demo, please!

Must buy for me.
If Kamiya is involved, you know it’s gonna be a fucking mental but epic game.

The art direction on this leaves me completely indifferent.

“The art direction on this leaves me completely indifferent.”
This. I love the concept, what I’ve seen of the gameplay, the execution of it (big DMC / Ninja Gaiden / etc. fan), but what the fuck is with the games art direction? Do these guys actually think people will *like* this games freakish spandex and leather fetishisms?
I can imagine a huge swath of people are going to look at the cover, notice that before anything else, and put it straight back on the shelves.

What’s not to like?
And many many many games have sold with almost solidly leather and spandex wardrobes.
And it’s not leather or spandex. It’s hair.

neither, nor, unfortunately, but the pedigree and what has been shown of the game so far leaves me with this conclusion.

I don’t see why the fetishistic nature of the game will be a turn off, seems more zaney with some cheeky thrills than hardcore crazy. I guess the more repressed, reserved and ashamed of the gaming community will distance themselves from it, but to me, it just looks like silly fun.

“It’s hair.”
Yes, cause that doesn’t make it any weirder, right? *laughs*
“I guess the more repressed, reserved and ashamed of the gaming community will distance themselves from it, but to me, it just looks like silly fun.”
Which is unfortunately 99.99% of gamers.
Don’t get me wrong, *I’m* fine about the visual style, but it seems like a stupid design move if they actually want it to sell.
