I played with it tonight after downloading the Overlord 2 demo. It’s not too shabby. Has a very Xbox Blades feel to the interface with a big panel on one side and menu items on the other – topped and tailed with interactive banner ads.

Quite impressed with the breadth of content and general immediacy of it. Not my bag but I guess if you want to make your own MTV channel then it’s a pretty cheap way of doing it.

Needs some tweaks – especially the full-screen mode which runs at a fixed 4:3 aspect ratio. And making a pick-and-choose ‘now playing’ list – there doesn’t seem to be a way of saving the entire list as a playlist without nominating each track at a time. Only evident *after* you’ve plonked a bunch of tracks together in that particular mode.

A track-preview would be good too. I’m really only compelled to choose tracks I already know rather than try out new music. Haven’t yet looked to see if you can trade playlists or do much sharing stuff with other users either.

No doubt, they can leverage this for Sony-owned brands and media but it needs a bit of tweaking to really exploit.

As a free out-of-the-box service, however it’s pretty neat. Nice to see something like this actually hit Europe for a change too.

I’d rather have a browser that didn’t crash virtually every time I use it. It’s the only fault I’ve ever had with my PS3 but it’s as inevitable as the sun rising every day.
