Tretton confirms Metal Gear Rising as multiplat to Keighley

mgs42b

Geoff Keighley has twittered that SCEA boss Jack Tretton has confirmed to him that Metal Gear Solid: Rising will indeed come to PlayStation 3.

“Spoke to Tretton – he confirmed Metal Gear Rising is absolutely coming to PS3 alongside Xbox 360,” tweeted Geoff.

This one looks like it’ll run and run.

MEGATON implodes on itself.

360 owners go back to proclaiming that they never gave a shit about Metal Gear anyway.

Well I know a few people who will be sighing in relief after hearing this news.

“Lighting Bolt Action” doesn’t sound good though…and Kojima was at pains to say that PSP version was the “true sequel”.

This seems like a dodgy spin off.

now we can all enjoy “watching” Metal Gear, as all the 360 owners liked to say after MGS4 released. I still haven’t got MGS4 yet, quite cheap now as well. i’m fuckin shit.

While I certainly believe that it is indeed multi-platform, what are the odds of Microsoft buying a timed exclusivity or still negotiating one? If so, do you actually think Mt. Tretton would deny that?

It wouldnt surprise me if this wasnt even cannon going off how Kojima insisted that Peace Walker was the “true” sequel, even the number ’5′ flashes up in the trailer.

Interesting. http://www.gamezine.co.uk/news/kojima-not-directing-rising-only-peace-walker-$1300991.htm

Kojima will have little involvement in Rising, and will only be fully involved in Peace Walker. The spin-off theory seems plausible.

Anyone else get the sense that Konami forced this multi-platform game out of Kojima which is why – clearly – he seems happier about the PSP game?
