VG247 Reader Survey – help us help you and win a copy of FUEL!

vg247logo2

We’ve just put a reader survey live, and it would be a huge help if you could take the time to fill it out.

There’s one short sheet of questions there: it’ll take a few minutes at the most.

Why do we need you to do this? It helps with marketing, basically, which means more writers, better content, more extensive tattoos and yachts in the Bahamas.

We’d like to say you’d be in with a chance of winning something if you do it, but that would be a lie. Unless you count respect as a prize, obviously.

fuelpack

Update – A Codemasters chap just got in touch. Apparently you don’t count respect as a prize, so he wants to offer three copies of FUEL to you lot in return for filling out the survey. Watch videos of it here. We’ve got no way of telling whether or not you’ve taken the survey as it’s completely anonymous, so do this instead:

  • Take the survey (we trust you – just do it)
  • Tell us in the comments below why you read VG247
  • We’ll pick three of the best answers and Codemasters will send you the game (360-only) when it launches on May 29

That’s it. Good luck!

Going Rogue expansion (sort of) announced for City of Heroes

goingrogue

A new City of Heroes expansion, Going Rogue, has been confirmed via marketing company StreetWide Concepts, Kotaku reports.

Mention of the pack appears to have been removed.

The add-on will be only the second in the game’s history, the first being City of Villains.

Going Rogue will introduce the world of Praetoria and a new alignment system “that explores the shades of gray that lie between Heroes and Villains,” apparently.

No date.

inFamous – Good and evil is “not just a binary choice”

infamous2

Players aren’t saddled with a “good” or “evil” choice in inFamous, Sucker Punch co-founder Bruce Oberg has told the PlayStation Blog, and can instead switch between the two through the open-worlder’s adventure.

“Good and evil in inFamous is not just a binary choice,” said Oberg, speaking in the video interview after the break.

“You don’t have to be good and evil the whole game. You can go back and forth between it. And depending on whether you’re good or evil at any particular time, you can actually choose to upgrade your powers in different ways.”

Players can flip between good and evil in the game to access various upgrades and powers.

“Depending on where you are in the game you may want to actually play a mission with certain sets [of powers], and it may actually make sense for you to maybe become more evil to play a particular mission.”

Full thing down there. The game’s out on May 21 in the US, and May 29 in Europe.

MotionPlus-only Red Steel 2 is “huge risk,” says Ubi

redsteel23

Red Steel only works with Wii MotionPlus. This may or may not be a particularly clever idea.

“It’s a huge risk,” creative director Jason Vandenberghe said in the latest Nintendo Power.

“We have no idea what the penetration rate for Wii MotionPlus will be. We assume high. We would like it to be high.”

Not using the peripheral wasn’t an option, Vandenberghe added.

“I would love to say to you that it’ll be compatible with just a regular controller, but the gameplay simply isn’t there without MotionPlus,” he added.

“That core experience just isn’t there without it.”

The game releases this Christmas. MotionPlus launches in June.

“Accept you’re a thief” if you’re still playing pirated Demigod, says Wardell

demigoda3

Stardock boss Brad Wardell has told those still playing pirated copies of Demigod to accept they’re thieves.

The game debuted at number three in the US PC charts, but Wardell said that doesn’t make playing hooky versions of the game acceptable.

“Demigod is heavily pirated,” said the exec on his blog. “And make no mistake, piracy pisses me off.

“If you’re playing a pirated copy right now, if you’re one of those people on Hamachi or GameRanger playing a pirated copy and have been for more than a few days, then you should either buy it or accept that you’re a thief and quit rationalizing it any other way.”

Demigod was pirated over 100,000 times in its opening weekend.

beatlesa2

Harmonix chap Alex Navarro has told Eurogamer that at least part of The Beatles: Rock Band’s tracklist is to be announced next month.

“You’re looking at E3,” said Navarro.

“It’s not going to be the full tracklist that we announce, but we’ll have some info at that point. We’re gonna tease it a little bit.”

Wonder if the full cost of the “experience” is going to be detailed at the show?
